ACHARYAS
- The peerless
vaishnava Acharya Sri Ramanuja, (1017 - 1137) who later expounded brilliant treatises on Visistadhvaitha,
had his earlier education on vedantha in Tirupputkuzhi .
- Sri Ramanuja learnt
from Sri Yadhavaprakasa , a renowned advaithin. The Guru and Sishya had long sessions on
vedantha vichara (in those days more of catechistic pattern) in a mandapa in the southwest
corner, where Sri Andal sannidhi is situated.
- Sri Ramanuja had
visited and worshipped Sri Vijayaraghava in Tirupputkuzhi many a time whenever he
journeyed to Tirumalai.
Nearly a
century later, Sri Vedantha Desika, acclaimed as an avathara purusha, made a masterly
exposition on the grace of Sri Vijayaraghava. Sri Desika titled the hymn as "PARAMARTHA STUTHI".
